Hello, my fellow readers. This week's book review is about the book "One Of Us Is Lying" by Karen M. McManus. The first book in the OOUIL book series. What happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive? Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide. One Of Us Is Lying is a young adult thriller, a gripping mystery that get's you hooked from the first chapter.

This book contains four POV's. Namely: Bronwyn, Nate, Cooper, and Addy. Each is written in the first person. Which makes it exciting to unravel their secrets. I enjoy each character. The character build and the change in personality are really entertaining and interesting. The romance in this story is enjoyable and reading those makes me feel like a teenager again. There are a lot of betrayals in this book, which is very sensational. (Also, Nate...You are my favorite).

The world takes place in the world we live. It's a contemporary story, in high school. The writing style is really good, it makes you feel like you are at that place on the exact moment.

This book was really good. I enjoyed it so much. Each character has such an interesting personality and because of the betrayals and the foul play, they develop so well. Yet, their backstories are interesting as well. The first chapter sucked me right into the story. It was an exciting, sensational, nail-biting story to read. I love that Netflix made a show off it (it's a little bit different though). I liked the characters, I liked the world, and I liked how well it's written. Overall I really liked the book. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did and have a happy reading week.

Synopsis:
On Thursday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention.

Bronwyn, The brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star beaseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High's notorious gossip app.

Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention, Simon's dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn't an accident. On Thursday, he died. But on Friday, he'd planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they just the perfect patsies for a killer who's still on the loose? Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.

Love, ❤
