I bought this book in a bookstore because I heard some great things about it. When I started reading TIK, it kinda remind me of Alice in Wonderland. A book full fantasy but with fae's.
Meghan Chase is a fun and honest character who will sacrifice everything for her baby brother. Even if it's her own life. She is a strong and truthful character.
Puck (aka Robin) is a fun character and comes and goes in the story when he feels like it, haha.
Ash, oh my dear Ash. You are bad and icy. I like it!
Grimalkin, is such an evil and selfish creature. He only helps others when he get's something in return.
The world is amazing, it feels like your living in this fantasy world and the creatures are real creatures. I would loved a map in the book because sometimes it is hard to follow the 'map' described in the world (with words).
Overall, I enjoyed reading the book. However I need to complete the full series to really know how I feel about the story. I never read a fairy book, but I liked it and it was something different than what I mostly read. The Iron King is a fun and quick book to read.
Synopsis:
Meghan Chase has a secret destiny, one she could never have imagined.
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth, that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil, no faery creature dare face, and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.
Q: Would you sacrifice everything for someone you love?
Love,
DarkBlue.
