Hii, my fellow readers. This week's book is "Brutal Prince" by Sophie Lark. The first book (which you can read as a standalone) in "The Brutal Birthright" series. Such a fun and interactive book to read. It has beautiful illustrations and Sophie made a playlist for this book that you can listen to when a musical note comes on a certain page. It sets the mood more for a certain part. 

This is a dark, adult, contemporary romance with the tropes of Enemies-to-lovers and arranged marriage. The romance was okay. They hate each other, they f*ck and then they don't hate each other anymore... They went from "trying to kill each other" to "killing others to keep each other safe" which quickly changed, but it's a dark romance so I expected nothing less of it. The side characters have some depth, which is interesting since they each have their own book in this series (If I remember correctly). I liked that this book isn't all about Aide and Callum. But their chemistry was definitely there (after the almost-killing moments, of course), and I like how they actually grow to love each other in the end. There is smut in this book and it's good and steamy. 

The world-building and writing of Sophie Lark is very compelling, I enjoyed reading this book and I'm intrigued to continue this series. Especially because I am curious about the other characters and their stories. It is a mafia book, so a lot of gruesome things happening and there are a of lot psychos in this book, which makes it exciting. But the gruelsomeness is not over yet and that also intrigues me. The illustrations in this book are beautifull and I really love that there are prints in this book, it adds something extra to the story. I enjoyed reading it, and I will definitely continue this series.
