Hii, my fellow readers. This week's book is 'A Good Girl's Guide To Murder' by Holly Jackson. The first book of the AGGGTM series. An addictive, crime thriller about a closed local murder that doesn't add up, and a girl who's determined to find the real killer, except, not everyone wants her digging into the past.
This was really addictive to read. Pippa is such a fun main character. I really like her determination for finding the truth, even when she knows what costs she has. Her comrade, Ravi, was very skeptical towards Pippa, but soon grew closer to her. I find their chemistry adorable. There are a lot of characters to discover, but mostly more secrets to unravel.
This book takes place in a small town and I love a small-town mystery. They always have a lot of secrets. It is a contemporary book, so it takes place in this world. I like that the place has a lot of woods and mystery spots. You'll get a good idea of what the town looks like.
I really enjoyed this book, it has a lot of mystery and 'whodunnit' vibes to it. There were a lot of plot twists during the story and a subtle growing romance. I liked the characters and how they were described. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I wanted to find out who did it. There were a lot of details that didn't feel important but actually were important. It was really subtle and smartly written. I'm really curious to read the sequels, and honestly, I can't wait to discover more about Pippa and the secrets of her town. Because they will blow your mind.
Synopsis:
Pretty and popular high school senior Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then killed himself. It was all anyone could talk about. And five years later, Pip sees how the tragedy still haunts her town.
But she can't shake the feeling that there was more to what happened that day. She knew Sal when she was a child, and he was always so kind to her. How could he possibly have been a killer?
Now a senior herself, Pip decides to reexamine the closed case for her final project, at first just to cast doubt on the original investigation. But soon she discovers a trail of dark secrets that might actually prove Sal innocent... and the line between past and present begins to blur. Someone in Fairview doesn't want Pip digging around for answers, and now her own life might be in danger.
Love, ❤
