Hello, my fellow readers. This week I read something different. Namely, a comic book. My first comic is 'Paper Girls (Volume 1) by Brian K. Vaughan. A suburban drama and supernatural mysteries collide in this smash-hit series about nostalgia, first jobs, and the last days of childhood.

I enjoyed reading this. I liked the characters, 4 badass newspaper delivery girls, who wanted to solve the mystery that is happening in their hometown. The coloring is beautiful and the art is pretty. It reads really fast and I wish there was more backstory about the characters (mainly Mac, she is 12, smokes, and is rude...). The language can be funny but also mean (homophobic). I guess that was the language during 1988, which makes sense (however, it's written in 2015...). There are characters whom I didn't know the language of, which made me guess what they were saying. Luckily that the art made it clearer.

It's perfect to read in autumn, because of the Halloween vibes. It's a short story and the comic book jumps straight into the story, which has a lot going on. Paper girls ended on a cliffhanger and I am intrigued to continue the Volumes. I did enjoy reading this. Yet, this comic book doesn't have a lot of great reviews (Which makes me feel like a complete noob). Paper girls gave me stranger things and time travel vibes. I couldn't follow what was happening all the time, but I guess the other volumes will clear that out. So... I think I should check the other Volumes out.

Trigger  Warnings: Homophobia, suicide attempt, racism...
