The beginning of this book was hard for me to read, and it kinda was a bit boring at the start of three dark crowns. I struggled with the start of this series. Its about three sisters, three queens, who are competing for the throne, each live in different parts of the land with different friends and priestess, and three different sides of the story. It was a lot of information to proces and sometimes it was a bit useless information. However I wanted to read this book because a friend of mine recommended it, and I wanted to know why she did that. Eventually I understood. When I kept reading, the book got better and exciting. The ending had such a great plot twist and was so good written that I started the second book of this series (One Dark Throne).
"Three dark sisters
All fair to be seen,
Two to devour
And one to be queen"
Storyline:
When kingdom come, there will be one.
In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born. Three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.
But becoming the Queen Crowned isn't solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it's not just a game of win or lose.. it's life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.
The last queen standing gets the crown.
