Grandma's apple pie.
Grandma's apple pie.
What's not to like about an old school apple pie? This is a typical apple pie. Obviously with apples, but also with apricot jam on it. Easy, delicious and it takes +- an hour to make. Scoop some ice cream with the pie and put on some melted caramel for the extra deliciousness. Here is how you make it:
Ingredients: (1pie)
- Puff pastry.
- 40g Dairy butter.
- 60g Granulated sugar.
- 2 Egg yolks.
- 10g starch.
- 3 Apples (in cubes).
- 1/2 Juice of a lemon.
- 2 tbsp Apricot jam.
Step 1:
Preheat the oven on 180°C or 356°F.
Step 2:
Take the puff pastry and put it in the cake pan.
Step 3:
Sprinkle the apple cubes with lemon juice.
Step 4:
Melt the butter with the granulated sugar. Remove from the heat and whisk the egg yolks, together with the starch. Pour the batter into a large bowl and stir the apple pieces in the batter.
Step 5:
Put the batter on the puff pastry in the cake pan and put it in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
Step 6:
If the cake is oven ready, spread the apricot jam on top of the cake.
Bon appétit!
